How It All Started

The work of the Morgan County IOG is aimed at targeted assistance to children in the form of charitable donations from sponsors and patrons, as well as providing material, technical, informational and legal, and humanitarian assistance through charitable events and programs. We also offer additional resources to families with children all over the world as well as support to schools and kindergartens located in poor regions.

Our Story

The agency was established in 2008 as a way to support youth and families who are working with multiple agencies to help at-risk youth and who are at risk for truancy, drug and alcohol abuse, behavior issues, mental health issues, and more.

We work with youth and families in a number of ways; including holding Family and Community Team (FACT) conferences through the IOG and the Department of Human Services. During the FACT conferences, community agencies collaborate with the families to provide a comprehensive family-centered approach. Families have the opportunity to see an increase in the quality, appropriateness, and effectiveness of services.

We also serve as the Morgan County Homeless and Runaway Youth Services program, previously funded through a grant held by the Rural Collaborative. We provide an array of services including case management for youth ages 12-21 who are either runaway, homeless, or precariously housed. We also provide basic needs essentials such as clothing, food/groceries, personal hygiene items, cell phones, and cell phone cards, assistance obtaining vital documents, medical, dental, mental health, vision, and hearing services, school advocacy, referrals for government assistance, transportation, shelter and referrals to applicable community agencies and programs.
